Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Faretin Faredin, trading as Faro Technologies ("we", "us"), collects and does with data when you use the Self. iPhone app and this website, farotechnologies.app. The short version: the app keeps your data on your device, and we collect almost nothing on the website.

1. The Self. app

Self. has no account system and no servers of ours that it talks to. What you enter — habits, goals, check-ins, sleep logs, mood entries, journal writing, and your onboarding choices — is stored on your device using Apple's on-device storage. We do not receive, see, or have access to it.

• No analytics, ads or trackers. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or third-party SDKs, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.
• Notifications. If you allow them, reminders are scheduled locally on your device. They do not pass through a server of ours.
• Backups. If you use iCloud or computer backups for your iPhone, Apple may include Self. data in those backups according to your device settings. That is governed by Apple, not by us.
• Deleting your data. Deleting the app from your device removes the data it stored there.

2. Purchases (Support Self.)

Self. is free. You can optionally leave a tip or buy the Supporter Pack through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment and handles your payment details; we never see them. The app checks your purchase with Apple on your device and remembers on the device whether you own the Supporter Pack. Tips are a thank-you and do not unlock anything.

3. This website

We collect information only when you choose to send it:

• Waitlist: the email address you enter. We use it to tell you when Self. launches and to send occasional early-access updates, based on your consent.
• Contact form: your name (optional), email address, and the message you write.

We use this only to email you about the launch of Self. and early access (waitlist) or to reply to your message (contact). We email waitlist members based on their consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. Contact messages do not subscribe you to anything. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this site. The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests on our behalf to deliver the site and protect it from abuse; Cloudflare may set a security cookie (such as __cf_bm) and keeps technical logs (for example IP address and request details) as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

4. Storage and retention

Waitlist and contact submissions are stored in a database hosted on Cloudflare. We keep your waitlist email until 6 months after Self. launches or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. After you unsubscribe we keep your address on a do-not-email list so we never contact you again, unless you ask us to delete it completely. We keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the conversation, then delete them.

5. Your choices and rights

Every waitlist email has a free one-click Unsubscribe link. On that page you can also choose "Also delete my email completely", or email support@farotechnologies.app.

You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the information you sent through this website, or to leave the waitlist, by using our contact form and including the email address you used. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights under local law, and you may complain to your local data-protection authority. We will respond within a reasonable time and in any case within the period the law requires.

6. Children

Self. and this website are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information through the website. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Health and wellbeing

Self. is a personal tracking and reflection tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. See our Terms.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and if the change is material we will say so in the app or on this site.
